Naiya and the Foxdragon
World building
The world building took place for this project over a series of years. It began with a few illustrations, explorations into what a tropical world might look like, inspired in part by where I grew up in Indonesia. From there it developed and is still being developed into many fictional islands, people and cultures.
The first half of “Naiya and the Foxdragon” takes place in a city called Ora. The capitol of their island, Ora is the center of trade and point of passage further into their island.
The jungle & world beyond
Naiya and Aru adventure outside the city of Ora in the second half of “Naiya and the Foxdragon”. There they find a world filled with magic and wonder. At every turn they’re faced with new challenges or confronted by old magic as they make their way into the heart of the jungle.
